Blogging consistently can be a daunting proposition for anyone, whether you’re an entrepreneur running a full-time business or a parent chronicling the everyday adventure of raising kids. I’m speaking from experience here (take a peak at my archives and you’ll see what I’m talking about).
And let’s be honest with each other for a moment. It can seem pretty pointless when you’re blogging for a small audience (thanks, Mom), especially if you’ve been at it awhile.
And yet…I’ve built my business off blogging. Almost 100% of my website traffic comes from Google, where people have found a post on creating a one-page content marketing plan or setting up a website for under $100.
Nearly every time I email out a blog post, I get an inquiry about my services from someone on my email list. And from those inquiries, I’ve booked real business — enough that I often have a two month waiting list!
I’m still building my audience so here’s the message for you AND for me:
Keep blogging. Even if no one’s reading it.
My friend, and prolific blogger, Mark Schaefer offers up 10 reasons why you should blog with this inspirational infographic, designed by Yours Truly. I had a lot of fun working on this with Mark. More importantly, it was a real kick in the pants to blog more.
Enjoy and feel free to share this on your own site.
